No Name Car Club
Lake County, California Established 1992

About
Us Past 2008 Club Contacts
No Name Car Club of Lake County, California was formed in 1992 by a group of folks that just liked cars and wanted to enjoy them. There were no officers, dues or rules. The group decided to put on a benefit car show to raise funds for Hospice and other local charities such as the Senior Center, Meals on Wheels ®, and 4H ® youth activities. We are now a bit more formal but still enjoy driving and display of our cars.
We do tours and runs during the year. Sometimes we go to a picnic spot and do a BYO-food, other times we will tour the local area and stop for lunch or go to adjoining towns to dinner. These are informal events with as many drivers as can get away from whatever rat race. From time to time there are speakers or slide shows at the general meetings on the second Tuesday of the month.
17th Annual
Lakeport Round Up
The “Lakeport Round Up” will be in its 17th year in 2008. This is a show of many nice cars ranging from original antiques, restored cars, hot rods, customs and recently even “rat rods”. It is truly a representation of the old car hobby. Cars for 1897 through 1972 are welcome; members do not have to have old cars to join the fun. The show is held in downtown Lakeport around Library Park between the lake shore (above) and Main Street. This year we will limit registrations to 200 cars due to space limitations and to make room for the Wooden Boat Show and other events in town to be held concurrently.

Looking and conversation (lunch ?) noon to 2:30
Awards 2:30 to 3:30
The 2008, 17th Annual Lakeport Round-Up registration is from 8:00 to 10:00 AM.
This year there will be two lines at the entry to the car show. The line in the left lane of 4th Street is for pre-registered cars with a registration envelope. The right lane of 4th Street is for cars to be registered on Saturday morning. The lines will turn right into the parking lot between 4th and 3rd Streets for registrations, photographs and parking instructions.
Pre-registered cars will be photographed prior to parking. Please have the card with the large numbers out of the registration packet to hand to the photographer. We will include these numbers in the photograph to assure proper identification of then of the picture later. After the photograph you will be directed to the parking area.
Cars to be registered on the day of the show will be in the right lane of the registration line. All of the paperwork will be done in real time. Fortunately, about half of the entries are pre-registered so it should go a bit faster; however, be patient – we are a car club not a professional carnival.
This year we are parking on Park Street, 2nd Street between Park and Main Streets, NOT on 3rd Street between Park and Main, on 3rd Street along Library Park, and in the City parking lots between 3rd and 5th Streets. The show registration and photo setup will be in the 3rd Street parking lot. Awards will be announced from the Gazebo in Library Park.
Parking is on a first come-first choice basis. If you have a group to park, please arrive together (and pre-register), we will attempt to preserve your group. Generally, we will park the early arrivals along Park Street and 2nd Street then into the parking lots adjacent to the waterfront. Club members will be present to assist you.
This year there will be no class awards. Judging will be by participants choice with awards for “Best of ____” such as Best Paint, Best Interior, Best of Show, etc. “Best of” will be judged by individuals knowledgeable in the particular area; they will consider the full range of entries.
Participant Judging is done by each of the registrants in the show. A judging sheet is included in the registration packet. Each participant will write the registration numbers of their opinion of the top ten cars entered in the show. These will be tallied and awards given to the ten highest scoring entries. Each participant will judge using his/hers own criteria.
Judging time is from end of registration, 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. All sheets to be tallied should be in the judging box at the photo trailer by 12:01 PM to be counted. If you have completed your judging earlier than Noon, please deposit the tally sheet in the box so we can expedite tally and awards.
Note: Cars owned or
shown by members of No Name Car Club or their family members are NOT eligible
for any awards in any group or by participants choice.
These cars will not have a registration number and are for display only. We
hope you like our cars but we have entered other shows with good results. This
has been a rigid policy since the first Lakeport Round-Up.
Some tee-shirts with the poster graphics will be available for sale at the show.

2007
Lakeport Round Up

The 16th Annual Lakeport Roundup was held at Library Park in downtown Lakeport in August 2007. Following tradition, it was held on a Saturday Morning starting at 6:00 with the intent to avoid the real heat of the August afternoon sun. One of the innovations of this show was to take a portrait of each car entered as part of registration; 102 pictures were taken. Photographs of the winning cars were included as part of the award display plaque.
A barbeque was held on Friday evening concurrently with registration for the car show and with the City of Lakeport presentation of Music in the Park
As in years past, judging was by car classes and awards for outstanding displays of paint, upholstery, engine, overall design (of customs) and so forth. Photo awards were presented for “best of categories’ and first and second of each of twenty classes.
The 16th Roundup was the first year of a Rat Rod class which was well received by those doing rat rods. Many innovative designs were seen. It was a bit different and a lot of fun. As usual, Fords, Chevys and Street Rods were in the majority but quite a few unusual cars were also presented including some imports and prewar stock cars. All cars earlier than 1972 are welcome.
The Lions club served both breakfast and lunch in the Library Park conveniently located adjacent to the raffle tent in the center of the show.
A local radio controlled model car demonstration presented by a local group. Several car show participants and an opportunity to demonstrate their driving skills (or lack of them) using these remotely piloted vehicles. It is a different skill.
2005 Lakeport Round Up
The 15th Annual Lakeport Roundup was held at Library Park and Main Street of Lakeport, CA in August 2005. As one might expect, it was HOT in the afternoon in August but a good time was had by all. We had the traditional judging by car class with a number of “Best of” awards as well. This year there was a special car night at the local drive-in theater where “American Grafiti” and “Cars”
were shown; quite a number of car show participants joined us at the theater.
This Chevy was awarded “Best of Show”. It is shown here while parked in front of the Lake County Museum on Main Street during judging. Engine and interiors are considered in overall ranking of the cars hence open hood and boot.

Here are more cars in front of the Museum showing some very nice customs.

Not to be outdone, several more original were displayed.

The following sections describing No Name Car Club activities in addition to the Round-Up Car Show are under construction in this draft. We meet monthly on the second Tuesday usually at 6:00 PM to dinner and at 7:00PM for a business meeting. We try to have a tour, picnic or a “dinner out” between meetings; these are quite informal but have been enjoyable.
